Who are the Friends of Kabulamuliro Village Library?

Anyone who makes a donation to Kabulamuliro Village Library will be considered a Friend. A volunteer Board will work to support the Library’s quality of service by providing and applying Friends donations in a variety of ways.

Your donation will have a direct impact on the continued excellence of Kabulamuliro Village Library. 100% of the gifts donated, both monetary and material, will be used to support the Library.

The donations will provide funding for resources and materials such as:

The library building – Initial donations will support the creation of a building structure.

Books – A collection of current books available on different school subjects.

Book Shelves – These will help in the proper custody of the treasured books for the patrons to easily access them from different sections as will be catalogued in the library.

Computers – Kabulamuliro Village Library will need desk-top computers to help facilitate online research for its patrons.

Desks – These will be for the computers acquired for use by the patrons and for management of the library.

Librarians at KVL will significantly influence or control the selection, organization, preservation, and dissemination of information. In a political system grounded in an informed citizenry, librarians are members of a profession explicitly committed to intellectual freedom and the freedom of access to information. They will have a special obligation to ensure the free flow of information and ideas to present and future generations.

KVL will have Librarians dependent upon one another for the bibliographical resources that will enable the library to provide information services, and have obligations for maintaining the highest level of personal integrity and competence.

Code of Ethics

  1. KVL Librarians shall provide the highest level of service through appropriate and usefully organized collections, fair and equitable circulation and service policies, and skillful, accurate, unbiased, and courteous responses to all requests for assistance by patrons.
  2. The librarians will resist all efforts by groups or individuals to censor or put to other use library materials not intended for otherwise unsolicited for purposes.
  3. They will protect each user’s right to privacy with respect to information sought or received, and materials consulted, borrowed, or acquired.
  4. Librarians will adhere to the principles of due process and equality of’ opportunity in peer relationships and personnel actions.
  5. KVL librarians will distinguish clearly in their actions and statements between their personal philosophies and attitudes and those of KVL as an institution or professional body.

They will avoid situations in which personal interests might be served or financial benefits gained at the expense of library users, colleagues, donors or friends of KVL
